26. 9. 2018 | Aktualno, Napovedujemo

Obveščamo vas o dogodku Multilingualism Day 2018, ki ga organizira Evropski parlament. Več informacij v nadaljevanju.

Multilingualism Day 2018 gives you the chance to peek behind the curtain and find out how the European Parliament works in 24 languages. Get an insight into the work of interpreters and translators, and discover the Hemicycle plenary chamber itself.

On Saturday, 29 September 2018, come along to this special open day and discover the multilingualism, accessibility and transparency of the European Parliament. This year, you’ll have the chance to explore multilingualism through fun activities in the European Parliament Hemicycle from 10:00 to 18:00.

Test your language skills through translation games, try your hand at interpreting, take part in translation workshops, listen to short talks to learn about where debates and votes take place, and have a chat with the European Parliament’s very own interpreters and translators.

For those who want an insight into the world of multilingualism, there will also be 30-minute talks with translators and interpreters throughout the day. Find out how to become an interpreter; how technology is changing interpreting and translating; what kind of mindset you need to interpret; how multilingualism works in the EU’s democratic process, and much more.

In addition, the House of European History will host a special 45-minute guided tour of its permanent exhibition, with a focus on language diversity. The tour will be available in four languages: English at 10:00; German at 11:00; French at 14:00; and Dutch at 15:00. To register for the tour, please write to historia-learning@ep.europa.eu or visit the House of European History front desk on the day.
