 PRICES OF TUITION FEES AND CONTRIBUTIONS FOR SERVICES OF THE EUROPEAN FACULTY OF LAW FOR THE 2017/18 ACADEMIC YEAR

Regulation about foreigners and Slovenians without Slovenian citizenship studying in the Republic of Slovenia

Tuition

Article 2
Slovenians without Slovenian citizenship in the Republic of Slovenia who educate at public or private higher education institutions, for study under certified programmes of the first, second and third degree pay as much tuition as determined for citizens of the Republic of Slovenia. Foreigners in the Republic of Slovenia educating at public or private higher education institutions for study under certified programmes of the first, second or third degree pay tuition unless this Regulation provides otherwise.

Article 3
Higher education institution provides the amount of tuition fees for foreigners in accordance with the Regulation for the tuition fees and other contributions in higher education (Official Gazette of RS, no. 40/94 and 45/98). The tuition fee is defined as for the citizens of the Republic of Slovenia for part-time study.

Article 4
Regardless of the provision from the previous Article foreigners in public higher education institutions do not pay tuition fees or pay as much as it applies to citizens of the Republic of Slovenia, provided that:
• that is defined by the inter-state or international agreements and treaties,
• they have scholarship of the Ministry of Higher Education or of authorized provider of scholarship, such as the Center of the Republic of Slovenia for Mobility and European Educational and Training Programmes, and the Republic of Slovenia Public Fund for Human Resources Development and Scholarship in the scholarship programme Slovenians Abroad (hereinafter referred to as the Ministry scholarship-holder),
• are students of an exchange programme between universities in the Lifelong Learning Programme or
• are foreign citizens with permanent residence in Slovenia and they themselves or their parents or guardians are taxpayers in the Republic of Slovenia.

The preceding paragraph also applies for studies by certified study programmes of private higher education institutions with a concession.

Article 5
Tuition is paid to the higher education institution on the basis of an issued invoice. Tuition for each academic year is usually paid in one sum. Higher education institutions may exempt foreign student from paying full tuition or a part of tuition or allow her/him to pay in installments. Higher education institutions keep records of payment of tuition fees and exemptions. Higher education institutions send data for the current academic year to the Ministry responsible for Higher Education till 31st of December.

–membership for the libraries of European Faculty of Law and Graduate School of Government and European studies

–access to the eUniverza platform

–an issue of journal Dignitas

–enrolment documentation

–student identity card

–hologram sticker

–contribution for the student information system VIS

–financial contribution for the Student Council

–contribution for the costs of informing students about study and professional matters (SMS messages, etc.)

–contribution for e-materials

(*) An examination is defined as: an exam, a seminar paper or any other obligation determined by the curriculum

(**) Under item 7, a proof of payment of the administrative fee must be submitted together with the request for a duplication of the diploma.

(***) Under item 8, the Faculty shall not charge for the following decisions:

– Decision on whether the student meets the criteria to take the exams for a higher year,
– Decision on the recognition of exams within the NU,
– Decision on taking exams early,
– Decision on a quicker progression to a higher year,
– Decision on the change of a selective course,
– Decision on a parallel study programme at other faculties or universities,
– Decision on extending the deadline for completion of the thesis,
– Decision on improving the grade,
– Decision on the appointment of the status of a student with special needs,
– Decision on the recognition of informal education.

Items 1 through 5 and 8 of the price list are exempt from VAT in accordance with Item 8 of paragraph 1 of Article 42 of the Value Added Tax Act.

Items 6, 7, 9, 10 and 11 are subject to VAT at a rate of 22%, which is included in the price.
